The focus is on phytopharmacy (herbal medicines), phytocosmetics (herbal cosmetic products), and phytonutrition (e.g. herbal dietary supplements, functional drinks). adsi specifically combines analytic-chemical and cell-biological methods and generates valuable synergies from them.
The head office of adsi is located in Innsbruck at Innrain 66a, close to the university campus, the Tyrol clinics, and other institutions and companies in the life sciences sector.
In recent decades, basic research in Innsbruck has focused heavily on cell biology and analytics. These two areas were also massively promoted by industry-related applied research programs from various institutions.
With the aim of transferring this knowledge to industrial applications, adsi was founded. adsi was founded as a subsidiary of the University of Innsbruck by o.univ.-prof.mag.dr.h.c. Günther Bonn (Institute of Analytical Chemistry and Radiochemistry, Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck) and Univ.-Prof.Dr.med. Lukas Huber (Director of the Institute of Cell Biology at the Biocenter of the Medical University of Innsbruck), with the support of the Federal University of Innsbruck) Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) and the State of Tyrol.
The adsi research team consists of top-class scientists from the fields of analytical chemistry and cell biology and is actively supported by colleagues from the administration.
